Grand Primo

I, Brother Brian Foot ROH, probably better known as Toby, have the honour and privilege to be your Grand Primo for 2014. I was going to start with a lengthy write-up of my buffalo career to date but have opted for the abridged version instead. I was initiated on 5th July 1968, in the Coronation Lodge NO 8598, OF THE Grimsby & District Province. At that time the Lodge held its meetings on the RAF Station at Binbrook. It was in this, my Mother Lodge, that I received all my further degrees. Having worked my way through the various offices at Provincial Grand Lodge, I had the honour of been elected Provincial Grand Primo in 1974. In 1983, as I was the City Secretary of the Coronation Lodge I took over temporarily as Provincial Grand Secretary. I am still doing the job today, though I cannot recall anyone ever saying it was anything other than a temporary position! Elsewhere in the Province I have held most offices within the Examining Council, Knights Chapter and Roll of honour Assembly. In 1998 I was elected as Grand Constable, to serve under Bro Alan Tarleton ROH, Grand Primo of that year. I have served on the Grand Lodge Management Committee and Rules Revision Committee. In September 2012, I was elected as Deputy Grand Primo for 2013 and at the November meeting of Grand Lodge last year I was Installed as Grand Primo 2014.
One of my aims, through the year, is to try to further the work already done to bring about a closer working relationship with the other banners. The beginning of this was clearly demonstrated at the R101 Memorial Service, held in Cardington in October 2013. I shall also endeavour to send a welcome letter to all new members initiated during 2014. If you have an initiation and the Brother has not received a letter from me within a month, please let me know.

Deputy Grand Primo
Bro David Jerman R.O.H
Brother David was initiated in the Berwyn Lodge No 9999. Wrexham & District Province, on 31st January 1989. He was inducted as a Certified Primo on 4th May 1990, installed as Knight of the Order of Merit on 7th September 1993 and ultimately exalted to the Roll of Honour on 29th January 1999. All of the ceremonies took place in the Berwyn Lodge. The work of Provincial Grand Lodge beckoned early for Bro David when he took on the duties of Provincial Grand Secretary from 1993 to 1997 and was again appointed to this position in 2006. He received the honour of becoming Provincial Grand Primo in 1995 and again in 2012. Between his spells as PGL secretary Brother David served his Province as a Trustee from 2000 to 2005.He has held the Presidency of Examining Council twice, first in 1994 and then 2012. It has been a similar story in both the Wrexham Knights Chapter no 86 where he held that office in 2001 then 2010, an in the Roll of Honour Assembly no 150 where he was president in 2002 and in 2010. This particular part of the saga does not end here as Bro David has been Knights Chapter Treasurer since 2001 and secretary to the Roll of Honour assembly since 2004. All these duties in PGL, Council, Chapter and Assembly have not meant that his minor Lodges have been neglected, far from it in fact as he has been Secretary of the Berwyn Lodge since 2003 and in 2010 he took on the same duties in the Sir Frank McGregor LodgeNo 1956. Moving on to Grand Lodge, it was in December 2003 in Stoke, that the Grand Primo elect, Bro Norman York, announced that Bro David had been elected Grand Chamberlain for 2004. Bro David went on to serve on the Grand Lodge4 Management Committee from 2010 to 2012 and last year was elected as deputy Grand Primo 2014. Away from the Order, David worked for 37years for the TSB which changed to become part of the Lloyds Banking Group. He retired in March 2010. From 1974 to 1990 he was a Scout Leader and took on many roles before becoming a district commissioner.
Grand Chamberlain
Bro Mick Brewster K.O.M
Bro Mick was initiated in the Wickrath Lodge No 9355, WG No 4 Province, on 21st July 1988. He affiliated to the Estebbed Lodge No 9209 (Cambridge) in 2005 and to the Ye Olde Cleveleys Lodge No 7059, (Blackpool & Fylde) where he gained his 2nd & 3rd Degrees. He affiliated to and attends the Arabian (K) Nights Lodge No 9546, GLD, in Riyadh. He was PGP of Blackpool & Fylde 2011, President Examining Council 2011, Knights President 2012. Bro Mick is currently Secretary of the Ye Olde Cleveleys Lodge, Knights Chapter and a PGL trustee.
